An Artist-in-Residence Update

It has not been the most ideal year for an artist-in-residence to showcase their work, given that we’ve really not been able to gather people together until just last month. Lois Gillespie has been quietly chipping away at her nine-month residency, and we thought it was time to share some of the work she has been doing.

In addition, Lois will be presenting a songwriting workshop, which she would like to be open to anyone who is curious about songwriting… and of course to actual songwriters as well! The workshop will take place on Tuesday September 21 from 7:30 to 9:30pm in the church. More details will be available closer to the date, but do mark it in your calendars now, if this catches your imagination.

In the meantime, we commend to you the Instagram page Lois has set up to highlight her residency work, called The Light of Lament. You can also sample her work on her Facebook page. For those of you who do not use Instagram or Facebook, here are a few samples of Lois’s work from the past few months, including a brand new song recorded just this week.
