Artist Residencies

saint benedict’s table is a community that values active participation in the arts. From our very beginning in 2004, we have sought to engage with the arts in a variety of ways, including in our weekly worship, special events such as art exhibits and concerts, as well as in the support of an artist residency and of the production of new works of art created by members of our community.

For our Artist-in-Residence 2025, we hope that our community of makers can help us articulate the grounding, prayerful routine of Ordinary Time, even in the midst of turbulent days we seem to be living through. Saint benedict’s table has long been a refuge for many, a place to return every week online or in the church building, to contemplate and to receive. How can you imagine the act of making as a call to the grounding routine of prayer and worship?

We are open to a wealth of ideas for the 2025 artist residencies and creative expression in any and all mediums are welcome. Additionally, we are particularly interested in proposals aimed at enriching our 4pm family-friendly service; think: songs, prayers & poems, collaborative art, or dramatic storytelling! In the residency guidelines below, you will notice that a special 4pm resource has been set aside to prioritize projects that can inspire all ages while offering new avenues for our youngest community to connect with Christ.
