ideaExchange with Archbishop Mark MacDonald

This podcast is drawn from our archives. Originally recorded and released in March 2012, it features Archbishop Mark MacDonald, Canada’s National Indigenous Anglican Archbishop. We had invited Mark to join us at this ideaExchange session, to share some of his own story and to speak to the place of Indigenous people within the life of the Anglican Church of Canada.

You can find out more about Mark and his work at the Communications page for the National Indigenous Archbishop by clicking here.

Dakota Hymn  – Native American Hymn - Paraphrased by Philip Frazier From the Dakota Indian Hymnal (1916) Public Domain

Many and great oh God are Thy things
Maker of earth and sky
Thy hands have set the heavens with stars
Thy fingers spread the mountains an plains
Lo, at Thy word the waters were formed
Deep seas obey Thy voice

Grant unto us communion with Thee
Thou star, abiding One
Come unto us and dwell with us
With Thee are found the gifts of life
Bless us with life that has no end
Eternal life with Thee
