Open Hands: a conversation

Jim Cornelius

Jim Cornelius

On September 21, 2020, Jamie Howison sat down for a conversation with Jim Cornelius, reflecting on the twenty-three years Jim spent as Executive Director of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. While Jim continues to work in a consulting role with the Foodgrains Bank, he has quite recently retired as Executive Director. As you’ll hear in this podcast, “retired” is not a word which entirely suits his personality! The conversation includes not only an overview of the work and vision of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, but also covers parts of Jim’s own story: what brought him to this work in the first place, and what he has learned over the years.

For more information on the work of the Foodgrains Bank, please visit their website. We’d also encourage you to read John Longhurst’s Winnipeg Free Press article, Hopeful About Hunger.
