“Kuchine waMwari here?” | “Where were you?” - a music podcast

It has been several months since we last released a music podcast, so it seemed like time to dig back into our archives to present something of a classic. This song also dovetails nicely with the reading from Job that will be on the plate for this coming Sunday; a reading in which an increasingly cranky Job finally is still enough to hear the voice of God speaking to him from out of the whirlwind.

This podcast features a song from a collaborative project we produced back in 2010, combining the musical gifts of Alana Levandoski with the Shona language spoken word “gospoetry” of the novelist and storyteller, Ignatius Mabasa. At the time Ignatius was the writer and storyteller in residence at the University of Manitoba, and the circumstances all came together to produce the three song CD recording from which this song is drawn.

If you’re interested in hearing the other two songs from the project, they are actually featured in an earlier music podcast which we produced in June of 2020.
